What I help with

People usually come to me when worry won’t switch off, when they’re running on empty, when they keep having the same argument, when the inner voice says not good enough, or when life is changing faster than they are.

When I’m not the right fit

I don’t offer crisis support or treatment for active addiction or eating disorders. I’ll help you find someone who does.

I combine a few well-researched approaches and adapt them to you. We agree on what you want to change and check in on it every six sessions.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

Untangling the loop

We notice the thoughts and habits that keep a problem going, then try small, practical changes between sessions.

Schema therapy

Where the pattern started

We look at patterns that began long ago and still shape how you relate to yourself and to others.

Compassion-focused therapy

A kinder inner voice

We work on replacing a harsh inner critic with something steadier — without pretending everything is fine.

What you share stays between us. The only exception is if someone’s safety is at serious risk — and I’d talk to you first.

Why there are no reviews here

I don’t ask clients for reviews. Therapy is private, and no one should feel they owe their therapist a recommendation. These credentials are what you can check instead.

Privacy

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between us. The only exception is if someone’s safety is at serious risk, and even then I would talk to you first.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can book directly. If you’d like me to keep your GP informed, we can agree on that together.

Money and time

Can I use my health insurance?

Many insurers cover sessions with an HCPC-registered psychologist. Check your policy for the details; I provide receipts for every session.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancellations are free up to 48 hours before the session. Later cancellations are charged in full.

How long does therapy take?

Most people come for 8–20 sessions. We review progress every six sessions, and you can stop at any time.

Sessions

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. Online sessions run on a secure video link and cost the same as sessions in person.

What if we’re not a good fit?

That happens, and it’s fine. I’ll suggest colleagues who may suit you better.

In crisis? I don’t offer emergency support. Call 999, or Samaritans on 116 123, any time.
