Almost everyone has an inner critic. For some people it is a quiet commentator; for others it runs the whole show.

Where it comes from

The critic usually learned its job early, often trying to keep you safe from rejection or failure.

“The critic is loud because it is afraid.”

Talking back

Notice the voice, name it, and ask what a kind friend would say instead. It feels awkward at first. That is normal.
